There is this story in Luke 4 verses 31-37 where Jesus walks up to a man who was possessed by a demon. Its one of my favorite interactions that includes Jesus in Scripture.

Jesus is preaching and teaching in Capernaum which was a city in Galilee, and the people there were blown away by Him. In fact the Bible says that ‘they were astonished at his teaching, for his word possessed authority’.

Then the Bible goes on the discuss exactly what kind of authority Jesus’ words had. The man who was possessed by the demon was in a synagogue there and when Jesus walked up the demon in the man said in essence, “what are you gonna do to us, I know who you are—The Holy One of God…”

Jesus didn’t have a billboard, or a t-shirt that said”Son of God” He didn’t come in and make some grand claim about HIMSELF. He just lived the way the would Honor God and it was noticed by ALL!

This gives me chills. It’s convicting. For some reason it speaks to me.

When we face the battles in our life, do people know who we represent? Is our presence so joyful, so resilient, that when we face adversary people can see the “Holy One of God” living in us?

I’ll be honest with you, I can’t say this is always me. Sometimes life is tough and it knocks me down and I forget who I am and WHO’S I am. I give way to negativity and skepticism of others and I think that my way is the only way. I forget that I serve a God that loved me so much and has proven Himself to me so many times that I should never doubt.

So what are you going to do in the midst of trials to SHOW people WHO’S you are?
