Cyle Young

​Cyle Young has served as the Lead Pastor of Heart O' the Lakes Church (HOTL) since 2016. Passionate about helping people know Jesus and grow in their faith, Pastor Cyle provides strategic and spiritual leadership across both our Brooklyn and Jackson campuses, guiding our mission to reach families throughout Jackson and Lenawee Counties by loving God and loving people.

​From the football field to the pulpit, Cyle brings energy, vision, and plenty of humor to ministry. A former University of Michigan football player with a 1997 National Championship ring, he stepped into full-time pastoral leadership over two decades ago. In addition to leading HOTL, Cyle serves as the Director at Somerset Beach Campground. He holds two master’s degrees in Christian Leadership and Religious Education from Liberty University and is an award-winning author of parenting guides, humor, and children’s books.

​Guided by one of his favorite verses—“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character’” (1 Corinthians 15:33)—Cyle is passionate about building intentional, life-giving community.

​When he isn’t leading Sunday services or coordinating camp life, you’ll likely find Cyle planning his next trip to Italy, locking into a competitive board game night, quoting Jake and the Never Land Pirates, or spending time with his wife, Patty, and their three kids: Carver, Cyleigh-Anne, and Carrick.
